My friend Ed

Everybody always depended on Ed to be there, wherever he was needed. That was the key, he wanted to be needed, but then who doesn't? That was my toughest lesson from him. I laugh about it now, but I sure learned it!
Ed was one of the first who understood me, my off-center humor. And it wasn't until I met him that I realized that it was his voz, his advocacy, his voice in public health that I was truly craving at my new vocation. He would have loved all the students who came to honor him -- even the one who represented us in San Jose.
So now, I pick up every red/blue pencil, count every pen and pencil from each chair and sigh every Friday. Saturdays will never be the same.
