The driveway was leaf littered after this rainy day...all stems UP but for this lone but oh so big leaf. The driveway looked like a big quilt with spiny patches. The air was crispy and felt like Christmas.
Funny how the end of the year brings with it such big expectations for the next year...for most people. For me, I check for battlescars from these past times and check on the emotional bank account for availability on investments for the coming year. I often weigh out the dreaded ROI (return on investment) when faced with December 31 events. Does the first day of a new year necessarily set up the expectations for the rest of it?
